Plan
Plan a hospital, from campus to room
Start from beds and volumes, or from one department, and the planner builds a space program, stacks it on floors, lays out blocks and fits the rooms. Click a building to lift it apart.

How the numbers are made
Every number traces back to an input, an editable assumption or a benchmark row. Department sizes start from the Illinois state space standards (32 rows, such as 900 departmental gross square feet per emergency treatment space); support departments from the median square feet per bed in Medicare cost reports for hospitals of the same size; the building grossing factor from 63 filings that give both building and departmental areas. Each department is then set against what 161 filed projects planned, with links to the filings.
Room sizes, the adjacency matrix and planning ratios are defaults to edit, not code minimums. Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI) minimums are left empty until someone verifies them against the edition in use. The planner flags what needs an architect’s review and never calls a layout compliant.
Worked examples
- 300-bed community hospital campus
- 40-treatment-space emergency department
- 15,000 sq ft primary care fit-out
